Law Students Employment

Phillips Parker Orberson & Arnett PLC looks for law students who have a sincere interest in litigation, and we strive to provide our clerks with a glimpse into the real-world practice of civil litigation. Throughout the summer, each of our attorneys work with the law students to refine their legal skills, and we make considerable effort to expose our law clerks to more advanced aspects of litigation. Practically every day one of our clerks can be found attending a court hearing, sitting in on a deposition, or actively helping our attorneys to prepare for hearings or trial. Several of our law clerks have been part of a trial team, spending days and even weeks in trial with our attorneys.

In addition, our law clerks are immediately welcomed into the culture of our firm, and encouraged to participate in all of the firm’s social activities.

How to Apply

We conduct on-campus interviews at the University of Kentucky College of Law and the University of Louisville Brandeis School of Law, and students at those institutions should apply through the on-campus process set up through their career services department.

For students at schools at which we do not interview, please send your resume to Paul J. Bishop. We accept applications from 2L students from August 1-September 15 and from 1L students from January 15-February 28.
