Jim was born in Reno, Nevada and lived throughout the Southeastern United States before settling in the Louisville area to attend Bellarmine University. He graduated Bellarmine cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature. He attended law school at the University of Louisville Brandeis School of Law where he obtained his Juris Doctorate, graduating cum laude.
Jim focuses his practice in the area of insurance defense, including commercial and personal motor vehicle, insurance coverage, premises liability, product liability, construction law, and other general liability and personal injury cases. He also has substantial experience in public, commercial, and residential construction matters, including drafting and review of contracts, bid issues, and prosecuting and defending delay and inefficiency claims, defect and warranty issues, and payment issues in both litigation and arbitration forums.
Jim and his wife Faith are the proud parents of Anna, Emme, David and Alli. Jim is very active in his church where he serves on the Youth Commission and the Stewardship Commission. Jim inherited a love of baseball from his grandfather and has rooted for the Atlanta Braves so long he remembers Dale Murphy as a catcher.
